A New Scrapbook Room

I have wanted a read scrapbook room for along time.  I had a make shift scraproom/office/playroom for many years.  I finally express my desire long enough- my hubby took the hint and got me built in  cabinets, desks and bookshelves for Christmas.
You can see this was right after they installed the cabinets.  The picture above is where my computer/printer and all of my materials for my Preschool Computer Classes will be.  I also plan to get a silohette one day that will be hooked up to my computer.  The little cubbies can be for mail or cute little pictures. Haven't decided, but we have 4 in my family and there are 4 slots...hmmm....
These cabinets are awesome, the bottom is large enough to house all of my 12x12 plastic bins, sewing machine etc...  The top cabinets are not that deep so I put my cuddle bug, cricut cartridges, spraymists etc... in these.
My book shelves are the bomb.com!  They are deep enough to hold my 12x12 albums.  I have hidden all of my non-matching albums in the bottom cabinets.  And all of my matching albums will be shown...yes...a little OCD issue here.
There is a quick shot of my room with my scrap table in.  There are lights under the cabinets that Jonathan installed last night.  He still has to cover the wires so that they are not seen.
Here you can see I've added a few more decorative things to my shelves.  I'm sure this will change.  I made room to keep my cute little cubby system from Pottery Barn.
Here you get a better shot of my desk and my scrap table.  The top antique wood but the scroll legs are wrought iron.  Love the table, I got it from Jefferson Street Market in downtown Lafayette.  I don't think they are in business anymore.  I must have watched this table for over a year, and one day I finally saved enough $ and splurged! So glad it fit in the room, I was a little nervous that it wouldn't as they were building the cabinets.  In the far corner you might be able to notice my music frogs.  I love frogs! I have had these for along time, couldn't pass them up when I saw them.  And so glad I was able to fit them on the desk...they use to go on top of my old desk, but with these cabinets there was not enough room at the top.

I hope you have enjoyed a visit of my room, and I hope it inspires you to create your scrappy little area in your home.

Until next time...Happy Scrapping,
Wendy

A Gluten Free World for Me!

Well ladies (and gentlemen) I am about to embark on a new way of life.  I just hope and pray I can stick with it for my health atleast!  I have suffered a very long long longggg time with stomach aches, body aches until I finally found a doctor that was not just interested in telling me it was all in my head or just writing a script for countless numbers of pills!  Those are all just bandaides that have never really gotten to the root of my belly issues.  Anyways, I in the near future will be starting a gluten free blog that I will journal my trials and tribulations.  I will pass along any great recipes and ideas when I come across them.  Let's just say I am not a great eater to begin with so this should be very interesting indeed!  As soon as I create the blog I'll attach it to this acct.  If your not interested in reading about belly issues then don't read it! lol

Back 2 School

Well, I now have a 1st grader and at 7th grader.  How time flies! I really love the stage Dax is in right now.  Many of you know his baby days weren't the easiest, but I have to say he is becoming an easier young man with age! THANK GOODNESS!  And its coming at the right time because now Drew is on the verge of becoming a TEENAGER- GOD HELP ME on this one! He tests me everyday- good thing I love him dearly!

This first layout was made with the Hall Pass line of We R Memory Keepers.  I made cute little banners to match the banner paper.  I took a notepad of an owl and dressed him up with flowers for the eyes and popped up his wings and feet and gave him a pencil!  Also used are the sticker pieces to the Hall Pass line, Thickers, twine and buttons.

Drew's first day of school layout is made with the new LYB school line.  I got the papers from Treasured Memories.  I used embellishments from many different scrapbook companies and I added real wire for the computer wire and ipod! I added real cd's to the layout and a friend of mine made the cute little padlock for this layout!  Thickers were used for the title.

I hope everyone is having a great school year so far, and if you done with these days, congrats to you.  I feel as though I'm back in school myself with all the homework these poor kids have each night!

Fall is in the Air

Below is the layout that I have created for my September 2012 Calendar Class.  We are using the Harvest Lane line from Simple Stories- and I just love these papers!  We are also using Wow embossing powders.  Janet has ordered a ton of these beautiful embossing powders!  And the cases to hold them are so dirt cheap! I can't wait to purchase mine!
Here you can see the embossing powders and how pretty they are! Very crips images made by stamping with Versa Magic pad and the Wow powders!
Below are the New Kitz Girlz Fall Kitz.  We have about 7 of them left, and once they are gone- they are gone! I hope you are one of the the lucky ones to get one of the remaining few.  To order you can call 337-534-4433 or order them online at www.trmemories.com.  The first kit is great for pumpkin patch pictures or any fall pictures
This layout is great for any Fall pictures or if you have a special grandmother, mother or daughter that loves to make pies...Take their pics while they are in the kitchen working away.  Get their recipes to add to your layout!  I love baking apple pies so I know just the pictures I'd like to put on this layout!

Photo Shoot in Texas!

Here are a few sneak peeks my photographer shared with me.  I decided to have my boys pictures taken as a surprise for my husband's Christmas present.  It's been awhile since I had them taken, so I thought it would make a great gift for J.'s office.
These pictures were taken by Joanna Holt Photography in Bay City, Texas.  We have some great locations for photoshoots.  Of course this is my home town and I do miss it at times!  Joanna kept posting pics of her photoshoots and I just couldn't resist!   The pictures above I just love on the railroad tracks!
This picture was in front of the old train station.  Color scheme of the building looked awesome with our clothes.

Here is a fun one of our feet- this is the rave these days.  I will definetly add this one to my scrapbook!  The other picture on the side toolbar is of the 3 of us on an old caboose.  LOVE IT!  She will be releasing 15 photos for me to print, so I will post more when I receive them!  If you have the chance for her to take your photo's you won't regret it! So much fun! And who would have thought- my boys cooperated so well! They are officially growing up!

Beach Bums

This was the paperline  I wanted to use for all those last minute vacations to the beach, for my August calendar class.  But I decided againts it, because not everyone goes to the beach.  If you want to lift this idea please feel free.  Once again, I don't remember the paper line for this one, but I do know that TM is reordering it! I loved handcutting the little bathing suits out.  I don't get to use these colors often being that I have two boys, but I took this opportunity to use these pretty colors because their was a cute little friend in the picture!  I did make my own sand with glossy accents and sand (for Barbados via. my sweet friend Katrina deSilva.) Mix it up good and wipe it on with a popsicle stick.  I used shells that we picked from the beach, gluing them with scrappy glue.

*BTW...I have always been a huge supporter of scrappy glue, but good lord I hate the new bottles...they are even WORSE than the old ones!

2 Cool Dudes!

Here is another quick beach layout.  I try to make one layout for Drew and one for Dax and then the rest are for my family album.  This particular one is for Drew's book, its more big boy looking.  Now that he is approaching 13 I have to tone down the kiddie stuff! Loving the wook papers at TM!  I made my own sand with glossy accent and sand from Barbados.  Really cool and easy to make!  I hope you enjoy!

My Life is Like a 3 Ring Circus!

Come One Come All we had a ball!
This was Dax's first time going to the circus.  He was not excited at all! But once we got there he warmed up to the whole idea, as long as he didn't have to get anywhere near a clown! Funny how some kids are scared of clowns!
I wanted to paper piece a small circus tent, but of course I never create what I think I am going to create! So I made a huge circus tent.  I really enjoyed making this layout, I held on to this paper line for almost 2 years! I believe it is Reminisce.  TM still has some of the cut-outs but the paper is long gone, but I'm sure you could find  something close.
This is a design that I copied and altered from my scrappin' friend Andrea.  She is super fun to scrap with, we always have fun together, lots of fun conversations!  She is very clever and searches the web for fun layouts, plus we really have the same scrapping style.  So when we get together she always lets me lift some of her ideas.  I am so busy creating classes that sometimes my ideas are long gone by the time I do my own stuff.  I wish I had a picture of her layout to show you two different layouts with the same sketch! Again this was the same paper line and the cute little popcorn box is from Hobby Lobby.

Summer Wrap Up

Hello fellow scrappers! I am still catching up of my kids books, and things are moving right along.  I have several beach layouts to finish up along with a few other summer vacation pictures.  I think I am almost done with both Dax and Drew's school albums from last year.  YAY for me!

With school starting Thursday, I hope and pray to get started on many of my customers books.  I have 4 ladies that I need to get caught up on....pray for me please! One of the books is a little daunting, I have to take apart an old book and make it look better- this is always a little hard when photos have been cut up, torn up and edges cut with those fabulous scissors from way back when! I WILL get it done!

I will post my layouts from time to time.  If you are ever at the store (TM) and there is a layout that you would like me to post, just ask me and I will post it for you.  I am only making Kitz Girlz kits at TM along with my class kits, so if there is ever a layout that you'd like to copy that is not available as a kit, feel free to copy my layouts from this blog.  It is an honor!

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer!

Two by Two

I put this layout off for months, knowing just what I wanted to do, but not really having the heart to do what it would take! PAPER PEICING! I knew I needed to do something cute-sy and there would be no embellishments for this theme.  I teamed up with a co-worker from TM, Paula, and she helped me cut them out.  She absolutely loves the Cricut and she knows how much I despise it.  Well, not that much its great for classes, but I don't have the patience to make things such as this.  So she cut them out for me and I put them together and brought them to life with markers, inks etc...  I hope you enjoy!

You Know I'm Still Around

Goodmorning Scrappin' Peeps!  I may have been missing in action, but I am definetely still around in the scrapping world! I have been a very busy lady...TM kid's camp starts next week, doing three great projects and the camp is completely full! Can't wait to see my little scrapping chicks and to meet new ones.  I will post pictured from camp at a later date. We also have the Mega Crop in Lafayette coming up in July...lots of classes being taught there.  Can't wait!

Below is my June calendar class that honors our dad's.  The ladies will have a choice between #1 Dad or #1 Fan.  This was a fun layout to make, as I have 2 boys and this is right up my alley! I used Jillibean Soup and lots of other scrappy materials.
Summer Lovin' is my July calendar class.  I am teaching it at the store as well as at the TM crop.  Classes at the Crop are full and I will be taking sign-ups for the store at the beginning of July.  Can't wait for this layout.  We will be using a new tool, so come on over to TM and create this adorable layout using the new Simple Stories  line.
Yes, people I have been a very creative lady.  Not only am I getting ready for all these classes I am trying very hard to work on my stuff as well as all my clients stuff.  With the summer days, I am on vacation from my other job.  This gives me time at night to scrap my heart away.  Below you will see that I have made the last page of the boys school albums.  I typically try to copy the layouts to make it go by faster.  Drew's layout is made with the summer Fancy Pants beach line....I know you can't even tell.  Well the number paper is somthing else, but the rest is the summer line.
Dax I used a different paper line, but honestly I don't remember the name.  It had the view finders and jax's if this helps any.  I have many other layouts that I have created.  I will try to get them uploaded to the computer, but don't hold me to it.  Check out the 6 and 12 on the grow bingo card.  Just so happens their ages were showing, so I highlighted them.  So cool!
I hope ya'll haven't given up on me and are still checking my blog for updates.  Feel free to leave comments so that I know you are still out there and wanting more layout ideas.

Until then.....
Happy Scrapping!

I Just Love February!

Let's just say, I do love the month of February. There is always so much going on in this month. Growing up in Texas we did not celebrate Mardi Gras so my mother always set out Valentine's decorations. Well, now that I am a transplant and live in Louisiana, I can't help but decorate for Mardi Gras...so that puts Valentine's on the back burner. Well, over at TM we couldn't decided which layout to do. I usually do some sort of love layout. This year I decided to amp things up a bit and give my class takers a choice. So its going to be pretty busy in my classes, I will be teaching different layouts in one class! I will be headed to a bar after class if anyone wants to join me! HA! We will be using the new Viva decor gels and stone effects. There are tons of techniques in these layouts. I hope you enjoy and let the good times roll!

All Smiles

I have been scrapping for a lady/friend for several years now. She has a beautiful little redhed grandbaby that is just precious. She is growing up, but these are a few of her baby pictures that I am just getting to. I have seen a few really cute layouts online that are 1 pagers that are in the shape of a circle, so I incorporated them into a 2 page layout. I hope you enjoy!

PS. You know my photo skills are NOT the greatest, but just wanted to show you the layout design. :)

Baby It's Cold Outside

Well, it has been a little chilly down here in South LA, but not really cold enough for snow. I have been praying and praying that we might get a few flakes and I was not lucky enough for this to happen. Even though we did not get any snow, I did get tons of sign-ups for this cute little layout class. I will be teaching this at TM this week, 4 completely full classes. Well, I do have a few spots open for the Friday class, all in all I have a total of 67 ladies taking this class this month. Thank you all for allowing me to teach you so many fun techniques and a few new products along the way!

Playing Catch Up!

Here are a few layouts that I completed while at Goldilocks Getaway. I finished a total of 16 layouts and I had a million more that I could have done! I was pretty happy to get caught up with my boys stuff. However, I did not get to work on any Disney or our Arkansas trip. I am afraid I will be taking another trip before I ever get to these layouts.
Stop, Drop & Roll: Various Disney papers, black cardstock, and various diecuts.
Bewitching Attraction: Aunthentique Halloween Line, Dusty Attic chipboard and Vintage Halloween cards.
Zombie Sockmonkey: Sandable paper, cardstock in red, cream, and black; Thicker letters.
Fall: Used so many products do really remember all the companies.
Banditos: Little Yellow Bycycle Baseball line.

We had the best time at the Goldilocks Getaway. I hope that we get to do that at least twice a year. It was refreshing to work on some of my own things, as well as, spending time with friends.

Until my next post.....happy scrapping!

Goldilocks Getaway

Well, my fellow scrappers...I am almost off! I know many of you think it must be awesome to work at a scrapbook store. Well, it is! But, you never get to scrap for yourself once your hobby becomes a job. A painter never paints his own house. A mechanic never fixes his own car...right?! Well, a scrapbook teacher never scraps her own stuff. I was going to take my customers things to work on, but I said to myself...this weekend is for me! I will be scrapping for myself. It is a new scrapping getaway located in Baton Rouge. It is actually a quilters retreat house, but another group of scrappers went and used it as a scrapbook house, and they said it was wonderful. So I am off to a fun filled weekend of scrapping, laughter, movies, reading and relaxing. I hope I will have some layouts to share with you soon. Take care my scrappy friends. I do have a new class out at TM. I will post layout later. If you would like to see it, go to www.trmemories.com and click on class calendar. It is titled "Baby it's Cold Outside."
