We're all mad....

Another fun clock that I made.  I knew when I saw this print I had to get it.  It was way out of our decorating budget for the crop, but I went ahead and splurged and bought if for myself.  I figured I would go ahead and get the bigger print being that I was going to keep it in my scraproom.  It will forever be a memory of the 1st annual 2 Crafty Chicks Event!

I took the clock apart, by the second clock I wasn't as nervous about taking it apart.  The first clock turned out fine, works like a charm.  I hand cut the picture out and mod podged it to the clock that is from Hobby Lobby.  I added all kinds of fun things such as pearls, pearl pens, stickles, swarovski crystals, bling, minature deck of cards to make this a fun and whimiscal item.
I just received a huge order from Leaky Shed for my Snow kit and I forgot I had ordered some keys.  I think I will have to add one to this clock and I may take a small picture of Amy and I and add to the bottom of the clock once the crop is over.  It will be a great memory for me!  We are super excited about the crop and the amount of interested.  It's going to be phenomenal!!!

Don't Be Such a CRAB

Well its almost Christmas and I wanted to get mybrother and his wife a gift but I was at a loss when searching for the perfect gift.  I just so happened to be bringing a huge stickle order to this artist that painted this crab and I just knew when I saw this print it would be a great gift for them, as they live on the coast in Galveston.  Actually they live 2 blocks from the beach, you can hear the water from their palapas.  I imagine it must be a wonderful place to live.

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought the clock and took it all apart. I was nervous about taking the clock hands and pieces off but had to do it!  I hand cut the artwork out and mod podged it to the center of the clock.  I added liquid pearls and stickles to the crab.  I then used my favorite technique that I used with my beach kit to make the sand and I put sand at the bottom on the clock along with some super cool shells I had.
I hope that Troy and Michelle love this as much as I loved making it!  Merry Christmas!

Fun Little Find

Great little find at Hobby Lobby.  I just love looking through all the neat things at HL.  I usually just look and never buy.  I'm not really much of a buyer- but this little piece caught my eye and I thought it would be perfect for this little corner in my scrap room.  Well I wasn't sure what I would put in it because the slots in the bottom were a little big.  I fixed that! I took my circle maker and some clear acetate paper and cut circles to fit the baskets, I even cut the centers out as you can see below.  I think it would be lots of fun for my stickles to go in the top compartment.  But for now this will do.

2 Crafty Chicks Event

Good Morning all you Crafty Ladies!  It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks!  Right before my Birthday/Anniversary trip to Vegas Amy Billings and I had put out word to the scrapper world that we would be hosting a scrapbook event.  Well, we were very busy getting sign-ups before I left and wow Amy did a great job holding down the fort while I was gone.   I will take you back several months...  Amy and I had been talking about how successful her crop, Cropping on the Red, had become and that many ladies had asked her to do another one.  That's when we decided to team up and have one in the Lake Charles area.  I had many clients asking for me to do something either teach classes or something in the Lake Charles area.  So the search began...we check hotels, civic centers etc...  It was so much fun searching for the right place, and boy did we find the most perfect, clean, NEW place ever!  The West Cal Event Center. We are super excited about hosting this annual event!  We have had enough response to be able to rent out the second hall- THANK YOU LADIES for the overwhelming response!  We have 97 ladies on the books right now and we still have 6 months to plan.  The event center is located in Sulphur which is about 10 minutes to the West of Lake Charles.  There will be 30+ hours of cropping fun, make-n-takes, sussies and 2 scrapbook vendors; Scrap Attack and Christy Bourgeous Designs and a few smaller vendors such as Toadilly Scrappin' Kits- Wendy Reaux and CTMH-Donna Lanclos.  There are going to be so many give-aways it will make your scrappy little hearts flutter!  We have 4 fantastic retreat give-aways, product give-aways and well a crop without a contest wouldn't be a crop right?  We will give away a spot to the next years crop with this contest...details to come later. If you are interested in finding out more information, hotel information etc...please find us on Facebook at:  www.facebook/2craftychicksinsulphur  Stay tuned as more information about the crop is released!  Again many thanks to the ladies that have signed up, you are making our dreams come true!

Fun Girly Layouts

I'm late I'm late for a very important date...

This remarkable young lady designed all the backdrops for her Junior Prom.  She is so beautiful inside and out.  Look at her super cute little date and how he posed for her.

I'm sorry I don't post the best pictures in the world, but you get the point...right! I am always so busy that I just snap these as fast as possible with my phone and as you can see they stink but I just wanted to share with you all some of my layouts I am working on for my client.

A Few Layouts I've Worked On

Well, I find myself up way past my bedtime.  The boys have started school this week and being that they are both at new schools we have to wake up a bit earlier to get there.  So with that said this is going to be a short blog post.

Check out all the cool embellishments I have made with the Silhouette.  Love this machine! Lots of fun to play with!
The spinner is a Leaky Shed chipboard diecut.  Love it!
 Love the lightbulb paperclips!
Love this Pink Paislee paper, it had punched out circles on it, which I didn't realize until it came it, it made the paper even more fun!
Love these 3-D pages... I racked up when I went to Gigi's I bought several of them in all different themes!
The baseball is from the Silhoutte.
My baby boy is now a High Schooler!!!

Love the title and the kayak...
I made this layout for my new little edition to our family.  I even crochet(ed)? around the paper, one of my favorite things to do.
As you can see I am digging the Silhouette.  I am a very theme-y scrapper.  I think this is because I scrap for clients and this is what they like and I have grown to like it too!  I feel the paper lines have gotten away from some of the themed things, so when you can't find what your looking for- I promise the Silhouette will fix you up!

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!
Wendy

Lazy Days at the Beach

Well, this kit was a HIT with all of my customers!  I was overwhelmed by all of the orders, I even got my first order for 2 kits all the way from New York!  A few friends put their layouts together recently and wow I must say they all looked fantastic!  This kit was such a great deal, it had 10+ pieces of paper plus lots of fun embellishments and what beach layout would be complete with out sand and shells from the beach!
On one of our trips to the beach this summer, I enjoyed each day combing the sand for seashells.  Where we were staying there were tons of them each morning and afternoon.
I used the new Tim Holtz: Sand and Sea diecut! It is super cute!
I am in the works for a class/kit that I will be teaching/selling at the Glitter Girlz event in Pineville.  I can't wait to show you the layout.  I also have another kit in the works...and will show you the outcome when its ready!

Summer 2014

I have had a busy summer and loving every minute of it! First we adopted a new kitten, that has been one of the exciting moments this summer.  It's always fun to add an addition to your family.
Meet Maggie May
We got her in May and can you just hear me singing Rod Stewarts song, "Maggie"
Apparently it is hard to find a yellow female cat.  Well, thanks to Facebook and the lovely Sarah A. (the foster mom) I found one.  I wasn't looking for a new kitten, but if one ever came across like this I would check into it...and it did!
She is fun and spunky and LOVES to snuggle!  We are in heaven and I can't wait to scrap some pages of her!  I got the purrr-fect paper!

Our second summer fun was 2 trips to the beach.  One to Destin with my family and one to Gulf Shores with our baseball team, Lafayette Stealth.  Both trips provided us many memories and lots of pictures to scrap!!! I'm getting right on that! Okay maybe not as fast as I'd like, but I did come out with a NEW Beach kit, so some of the pictures will fit nicely onto the layout.

The most important thing that happened is that I have a son that is now going to High School- really that sounds crazy, but its true! He is super excited about his new adventure at Teurlings!  Here is a picture from his jr. high graduation...

So that is what I've been up too, I hope you all are having a great summer as well.  Please check out my tabs, I have new kits and pictures from my summer camp under the camp tab!

Create Camp 2014

I haven't posted in awhile, so I just thought I might post real quick.  Today I am preparing for my Create Camp which is something I've been doing for quite some time now.  I enjoy kids, I teach little kids during the school year all about computers and technology and sometimes these little whiz kids know more than me.  I also enjoy  teaching the older girls ages 9 and up all about my passion which is scrapbooking.  I have enjoyed scrapping a very long time, and I am so happy that I can show these girls how to create projects and hopefully they will continue to grow their love for crafting!  These are my best projects yet.  The Christmas camp was so successful, they loved the book, its wasn't too hard and so I created this camp with that in mind, to keep it simple and it doesn't have to be all about a million techniques.  They are all very excited about the mermaid canvas and I can't wait to teach them this!  I will post pictures when the camp is complete.  Please feel free to share information about my camps!  I have them during Holidays and Summer @ the Lazy Lucy Retreat House!
