February Calendar Sketch Class

Well, with so much going on in February it was so hard to decide which holiday I should focus on for the monthly class...so I chose to do both. It was so much fun coming up with two layouts using the same exact sketch. You can click on the image to make the picture larger. You might not be able to tell from this picture that there are dimensional hearts, minature buttons, and handwritten doodling...he loves me he loves me not...with a flower and flower petals.
I am not big into Mardi Gras, as a child I grew up in Texas and this holiday was not celebrated - as it is here in Louisiana. Though I enjoy bringing my children to a parade or two...I have never been to a ball. I guess I'd have to add this to my bucket list because I am intrigued by what I hear.
Again, the fleur di lis (which I probably butchered the spelling) are dimensional, stamped, sequined and even some velvet ones were included. You will have the option to bead on this layout and we will also be learning a new technique with Perfect Medium and Pearl Powder. Remember when you email me please let me know which layout you would like to do. See you all in February! If I don't see you this month please have a safe Mardi Gras holiday!

Catching Up on a Few New Layouts

This first layout was at Drew's school. The letters are alcohol inked and the web was made with a die cut and the all purpose ink (I call them Ink Pots.) Last night I worked the crop and found time to create one layout. It is so funny that I'm creating a snow page another snow page layout but Janet enjoys keeping the class layouts so with 50 some odd customers in this months class, I didn't have enough materials to make the same layout that I am teaching. The class did go well this past Saturday. There were 18 people in class and it ran very smoothly...and I think they all enjoyed making the Tim Holtz snow, shimmer mist and using crackle paint. Thanks ladies for joining me...you all did so awesome!

This last layout is of Drew playing in the snow. I just love the technique used in this layout. I used the Ink Pots (once again) to cover the whole snowflake paper. The glittered snowflakes resisted the ink. Awesome! I hope to use this in a class soon!
Well, I hope you enjoy my new layouts. I always love comments.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Years to you all! I hope that everyone has a great day as well as a great year! I have not actually made my New Years Resolution, have you? I need to get busy on deciding what it might be. I know that I need to try and stop drinking so many diet cokes...but I just can't. So that can't be part of living a healtier life. Maybe it will be to spend as much quality time with my family as possible. I tend to get so busy working that sometimes I know that my children need a little more time with their mommy...whatever I choose I will reflect on my previous year and hope to strive for something wonderful. I hope you all do the same. Please share your Resolutions if you'd like!

I thought I'd take this time to post a layout that I created for Drew. I love the way it turned out. You may have to click on it to see it a little better. Enjoy and Happy New Year!
