I Just Love February!

Let's just say, I do love the month of February. There is always so much going on in this month. Growing up in Texas we did not celebrate Mardi Gras so my mother always set out Valentine's decorations. Well, now that I am a transplant and live in Louisiana, I can't help but decorate for Mardi Gras...so that puts Valentine's on the back burner. Well, over at TM we couldn't decided which layout to do. I usually do some sort of love layout. This year I decided to amp things up a bit and give my class takers a choice. So its going to be pretty busy in my classes, I will be teaching different layouts in one class! I will be headed to a bar after class if anyone wants to join me! HA! We will be using the new Viva decor gels and stone effects. There are tons of techniques in these layouts. I hope you enjoy and let the good times roll!

I have been scrapping for a lady/friend for several years now. She has a beautiful little redhed grandbaby that is just precious. She is growing up, but these are a few of her baby pictures that I am just getting to. I have seen a few really cute layouts online that are 1 pagers that are in the shape of a circle, so I incorporated them into a 2 page layout. I hope you enjoy!

Baby It's Cold Outside

Well, it has been a little chilly down here in South LA, but not really cold enough for snow. I have been praying and praying that we might get a few flakes and I was not lucky enough for this to happen. Even though we did not get any snow, I did get tons of sign-ups for this cute little layout class. I will be teaching this at TM this week, 4 completely full classes. Well, I do have a few spots open for the Friday class, all in all I have a total of 67 ladies taking this class this month. Thank you all for allowing me to teach you so many fun techniques and a few new products along the way!

Playing Catch Up!

Here are a few layouts that I completed while at Goldilocks Getaway. I finished a total of 16 layouts and I had a million more that I could have done! I was pretty happy to get caught up with my boys stuff. However, I did not get to work on any Disney or our Arkansas trip. I am afraid I will be taking another trip before I ever get to these layouts.

Stop, Drop & Roll: Various Disney papers, black cardstock, and various diecuts.

Bewitching Attraction: Aunthentique Halloween Line, Dusty Attic chipboard and Vintage Halloween cards.

Zombie Sockmonkey: Sandable paper, cardstock in red, cream, and black; Thicker letters.

Fall: Used so many products do really remember all the companies.

Banditos: Little Yellow Bycycle Baseball line.

We had the best time at the Goldilocks Getaway. I hope that we get to do that at least twice a year. It was refreshing to work on some of my own things, as well as, spending time with friends.

Goldilocks Getaway

Well, my fellow scrappers...I am almost off! I know many of you think it must be awesome to work at a scrapbook store. Well, it is! But, you never get to scrap for yourself once your hobby becomes a job. A painter never paints his own house. A mechanic never fixes his own car...right?! Well, a scrapbook teacher never scraps her own stuff. I was going to take my customers things to work on, but I said to myself...this weekend is for me! I will be scrapping for myself. It is a new scrapping getaway located in Baton Rouge. It is actually a quilters retreat house, but another group of scrappers went and used it as a scrapbook house, and they said it was wonderful. So I am off to a fun filled weekend of scrapping, laughter, movies, reading and relaxing. I hope I will have some layouts to share with you soon. Take care my scrappy friends. Merry Christmas 2011

I love Christmas, I love to decorate for theseason. I have added some new pieces to my collections.My parents came last night and allowed the boys to each open 1 present. Dax loves nutcrackers, so he got a new one to add to his collection. Drew opened up a nativity scene that is for the whole family to enjoy. My boys are growing up in a Catholic school, I am very proud at the job they have done teaching them about the real meaning of Christmas. The other night my youngest was in the school play and it was just lovely and he really understands the reason we celebrate Christmas and the birth of baby Jesus. I have taken a few pictures of some of my decorations for you to enjoy. I have not really scrapbooked much lately, well not for myself...so I don't really have much to post in that department. I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year. If you are one of my ladies who take my scrapbook classes I really want to "Thank You" for your support in making my classes such a success, I couldn't do this without you all! Thank you so much! I hope to see you all next year!

This is my mantle with our Nutcracker collection. I also received and ceramic piece from my grandmothers passing that I adore, it is the 3 caroling children that also serves as a candle holder. I will cherish this forever! This is the new Nativity set that we received this year from my mother.Anyone who knows me, knows that I love frogs! All shapes and sizes. This is a cookie jar that has a story behind it! My mom bought it from Gumps. Well, my darling husband decided to decapate the frog. He broke its head. I was DEVASTATED! So after feeling (I guess) really bad, he located another one through google, because Gumps no longer had them. Wa- laaa I got another frog cookie jar!

This is our pencil Christmas tree. I love it! It's not over the top big... its really skinny! Works for our house, gives us more room for family! It doesn't require too many ornaments either. At the entrance you can see my collections of Santa's. My mother said she has many more that she found at my grandmothers house, so I will be adding to this collection next year.

I hope you all enjoyed a little Christmas tour through my home. Ha haha kinda like the Tour of Homes during the Holidays, via the web! LOL- enjoy!

A NEW Blogger Template

Okay, I am so out of the loop on the blogger templates. I tried to give my blog a new Christmas look and lord have mercy, I got all confused with these new options. AND I still can't figure out how to move only my picture and title back to the center! Law-de! Anyways, I hope everyone Holiday Season is going well. I have been working on an auction project for a friend of mine. I hope to take some pictures of it and post them later. Until then, keep shopping, scrapping, wrapping or whatever it is you need to do to get prepared for Christmas.

Oh Ps. The Christmas layout below....you wouldn't believe the response that I got from that class! I had a total of a whopping 76 class takers! Can you believe that! That has been my record so far. I have been teaching at TM, going on my 4th year! I am so blessed, I absolutely love teaching at TM and love teaching the ladies that I have met so far. It has been a wonderful adventure and I must thank everyone for making my classes so successful!

Well, I feel like I have been naughty because I have almost given up on this blog of mine! It's just something I don't think about as much. I often wonder if people look at it anyways. Here are a few pictures of my next layout class at Treasured Memories. I have 3 classes that are completely FULL, how exciting is that! I have been teaching there for 4 years now and I have to say Halloween is always the most fun to teach! We will be embellishing photo mattes and using them on the layout, making a homemade broom and how cute is the witches boot and hat. I actually need to print up some pictures, because last year for Halloween I was a witch at the TM Halloween crop night. Perfect for this layout! I hope you enjoy!

Time 4 Change

Recently my son Drew tried out for the LA Banditos. When my husband decided to take him for tryouts, it was really a joke and we never thought in a million years that he would make this team. Not that he's not good enough, but because it's really hard to get on this team. They are looking for the best of the best. The team originated out of Texas, and has grown to be a very successful program. I am excited to say that Drew made the 12U Banditos White team. He has moved up to AAA for the Spring season. We are very excited for Drew and that he will get such an awesome opportunity to grow in the game of baseball!

Disney Layouts

Four down one hundred to go......Awe, the joys of Disney. I think I took over 700 pictures at Disney this past year. I just love Walt Disney World. Here is a fact about myself that you may not know. I worked at Disneyworld's Port Orleans Resort in College. So yep, I wore the ugly long dresses, little amounts of make-up and no bleached hair. Those were the days, I am sure that they don't go by such strict rules these days, but back in the day they did! Another fact: my husband worked at Disney too! We didn't work there at the same time, but we both have a tremendous love for Disneyworld, and we will be taking many more trips there!

Below are the layouts that I have done so far. Well, I am missing a T for the first layout. So I am on the hunt for those Thickers! In the third layout you will see that I crocheted on the layout, I just love this technique!

In the Donald Duck/Epcot layout I used the Cricut and made a Donald Duck. So Cute! I hope you enjoy these and I will post more as I make them. I do have lots of school and sports layouts that I completed, I will try to post them in a few.

September Calendar Class and School Kits at TM

Hi my fellow scrappers! I have been a very busy bee. School has started and I am falling back into a routine! Yeah for me and my family. I need this structure in my life, it makes me a much happier person! I went to Arbor Oaks 2 weekends ago and I promise to post some pictures soon. I completed 17 layouts while there. I was on a major mission! Mission not quite accomplished but very happy with the outcome! I will be teaching a class at Scrapfest in September, it is the school layout above. I just loved the summer layout that I taught in Rayne, so I thought I'd come up with something similar to teach in Mandeville. The flip book has been around for ages, but I taught it for the first time and it was a HUGE HIT! It is such a great way to incorporate more pictures or journaling! If you are interested I am selling these kits as well. The next layout is my September Class at TM. As you can see...I am so over summer and readddddy for some Fall weather! I am actually opening up a 4th class this month. My classes have been doing great, and I want to keep class sizes a little smaller so I thought it was best to open the Friday class this month. Few Customer Layouts

Many of you want me to post pictures of the layouts that I create for my customers. Well, I don't usually like to post these because as scrappers you'd be let down. When I scrap for non-scrappers they don't want the thrills and frills of scrapbooking so many times the layouts are very "old school". Last night I created a few for a lady that I have been scrapping for, for 4 yrs. They called for some thrills and frills, it was prom for her son and a dance recital for her daughter. A Little R&R

Well, if you are looking for inspiration or ideas I will have some for you in a few short weeks. As long as Arbor Oaks has been open, I have wanted to go. Well, the timing was never right or getting together 10 people was a challenge. I am eager to say that I am so excited that I will finally be attending my first weekend crop at Arbor Oaks in just a few short weeks! The planning stage is on~ I have been working hard at cleaning my scraproom and getting the things together that I will need. It is going to be interesting, being that I hardly ever go to a-way crops. I have Disney layouts planned and I have lots of catching up on school stuff. Remember at the beginning of the summer I said that was my goal to get school stuff complete before the new school year started. I failed miserably at this! We have been so busy this summer over at TM and I just have not worked on my school stuff much at all. I will get it all complete soon! Stay tuned...I will post pictures!

My Family

I just thought I might have a really quiet August, without much hustle and bustle...yeah right! This is not the case at all. I am finishing up my classes from July this week (the first week in August.) With the big megacrop, we just didn't have time to fit it into the July schedule. So as soon as I was wrapping up this class, I had to hurry and get a class ready for August. I chose to create a layout that could go anyway. I was afraid to choose a school layout because not everyone needs school. I just loved the new line that Janet got in at TM- Authentique. The colors are just beautiful. My photographs would have actually gone really good with the colors, but I chose to use black and white to show my ladies that you don't have to have pictures that match perfectly- just change the color! The layout looks very linear and clean...but I promise you its got tons of techniques! From the 3 T's to making flowers to the sew easy tool. I hope you enjoy!

Hello World!!!

I have been avery very bad blogger! Its just that I have been so busy. I know you moms out there understand. We at Treasured Memories just finished hosting our 4th Mega Crop. It was a huge success! Almost 200 women in 4 days with so much creativity flowing in one very larger civic center. I taught 3 classes including the one you see above. I created this layout with the new Simple Stories line. I just love their new papers! So cute and such a great way make the waterfall book. They have these perfect little cards that make this book just perfect! I will be teaching this class again tomorrow as well as next Tuesday and Friday at Treasured Memories.

I will try very hard to do better at posting. I had several ladies tell me that they go to my blog all the time and that they were disappointed that I haven't posted in a while. I just thought nobody checked it out, but I guess I was wrong.

School Out for Summer!

Lets Have Some Girly Fun!!!

Summer is here and it's time to have some fun. While my boys head out to a sports camp of their own I will be over at Treasured Memories teaching girls ages 8 and up some fun projects. We will be making an altered frame where the girls will work with metal and learn how to make fun pinwheels. The will play with flowers, bling and liquid pearls too!

The chipboard book uses the Echo Park line that is so much fun! They will learn how to cover, paint and embellish their cute little books.

The altered album will be right up any girls alley! It says, "My Music My Way!" Just love this! The girls will work with metal, covering chipboard, layering paper to make this fun addition to any girls room.

Camp dates: June 29th, June 30th and July 1st. 10-2. Please contact me if interested in taking 1 or all 3 of these classes. I only have a few more spots.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Can I tell you how much I enjoy going to watch my two boys play ball. Drew has grown so much and I am so proud at his determination and drive to succeed at this sport. It is wonderful to see him enjoy something that he really really likes! He play a few positions, so that is always great. He plays short stop, third and his favorite is pitching. I hope he continues to enjoy this game and excel even further. He plays for the SBS Crusaders and he also plays for the LA Dodgers. Dax started his first year of tee-ball. Well, that is another story. He was actually too young to play this season, but good lord he's so good we couldn't see making him wait another year. He's been making mental notes from watching his brother! They agreed that if Jonathan would help coach that he could play. HA HA! This is funny....Jonathan is about to loose his religion with all these children! It's funny to see him in this role. I tell him all the time, this is what I go through teaching pre-school computer classes! Welcome to MY WORLD!!! Anyways, he has hit 5 home-runs so far. Catching and fielding is another story, but he will get it before you know it! Some dad's have asked if Jonathan will put him in coach pitch next year and that is a little funny to me. He can hit the ball that is thrown to him, that's not the problem, but he is just so young. I think I will see to it that he stays right where he is for another year. Anyways, I love me some baseball. Hope you enjoy my layouts as much as I enjoyed making them!

Catch Up Time!

Well, can I say NEGLECT! My poor little boys scrapbooks have been neglected!!! I am very busy with my two boys, baseball is in full swing and there is just no time for their scrapbooks. But I tell you, I have never started a new school year without having their previous year finished and this will be no different. I have no idea when I will fit this all in among, scrapbook classes, kids camps and the mega crop....BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE. My layouts may be simple but that is just fine by me! This is why I love scrapping boys...it doesn't have to be frilly and full of fluff! I love my boys! These pictures are from spring pictures. I used the old yellow bicycle line and I threw in a metal accent piece. Love the thought of using metal on their layouts...too cool!

Dax had a blast with some of his classmates at his birthday party. Well many of you that have followed my blog will know that I just love a good party! Kid's parties that is! The last 5 years have been so much fun...but I think I am done! I have had for Dax a John Deere tractor party, a sock monkey party, a frog party (with real live frogs), a robot party, and now a Mickey party. So my deed is done and I am retiring! Though we will have some movie parties and sleepovers I'm done with the big parties! I am happy to be hanging up this hat! Can you hear it in my voice? Well, they just tire me out! I am the one that cleans the whole house, gets the yard all ready; mowing, weed-eating, planting flowers, pressure washing and whatever else. I do all the cooking, planning, decorating...so I guess what I am saying is my husband is a very lucky man.
Look at this cute picture of all the kids, they ranged in all ages from 8th grade all the way down to pre-school. Dax really enjoyed his party!
This is his best buddy- Maddox. All I ever hear about is Maddox this and Maddox that. I hope they continue to be friends, he seems to be a great kid!

Mother's Day

This Mother's Day will be a little sad for my mother. She lost her mother just this past month. So when I knew that I would be teaching a Mother's Day class at TM I just knew it needed to be special. I don't usually keep the layouts that I make, because they are property of TM, but this one is a little special to me, so I just may have to purchase it or re-create it for myself. I can see pictures of my mother and grandmother on this layout! I hope you enjoy. Believe it or not I actually have 4 classes completely FULL. How exciting is that? When I began teaching this class almost 4 yrs ago I had about 2 classes and they were somewhat full each month, but this scrapbooking class has grown so much and with this I have made such wonderful friendships, and several ladies that I could call my friend, my mom, my grandmother...these ladies are all so special to me! Of course, don't forget our special dad's, we will be having a Father's Day class in June and then of course a summer layout in July. Until then, HAPPY SCRAPPING!

My Nonie

Today we laid to rest my grandmother, Nonie. It was a very emotional day for so many. I could say so much about my grandmother, but then I would have to write a book. I will say that I have wonderful memories. I spent every Friday night with her as a child watching, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Dallas and Falcon Crest. Those were the days. We played games, she and my grandfather loved playing games with me, teaching me how to play black jack and gin rummy to name a few. She also taught me things like manners, and she tried to teach me the Southern ways of life, like drinking coffee...well that didn't work out as she had planned. These are just a few fun memories I will keep of her, but there are so many more, that I will in time scrapbook and journal to share with my children. May God Bless her and take care of her in Heaven. May she watch down over my family and keep us all safe until we meet her again! Love you Nonie!

Dorothy Hennessy Morris, 91, of Bay City passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Bay City. She was born February 16, 1920 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to the late John Henry & Juna Corn Goates. Dorothy has been a life long resident of Matagorda County, a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City, Eastern Star, Paul Harris Fellow, and Flora Luncheon Study Club.

She is survived by her daughter: Rhonda Broussard & husband Kent of Bay City; grandchildren Kip Broussard, Troy Broussard, Wendy Broussard Reaux, Lyia Winfrey, 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Howard Travis Hennessy; second husband: C. L. Morris; son: Jimmy Howard Hennessy; 5 sisters; and 2 brothers.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Cedarvale Cemetery with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.

Easter Time

Well, I just love this time of year. Not only is it hunting for eggs but it is a time for family and faith. I have always loved this holiday. The colors make me so happy! A funny story: when my hubby and I were dating he knew how much I loved Easter, so he went out and purchased a basket and all kinds of fun stuff to go in it. He got his sister to decorate the basket with my name on it and everything...awe...the things we do for those we love! I will always cherish this memory!

Metal Art

Connie over at TM has inspired so many women on designing layouts with metal. I fell in love with the idea, because its something new that I can do for all my boy layouts! You don't have to make the whole layout metal, you can make parts of your layout metal! This was my take on her class. The first picture, was the first layer that I finished. Everything is underneath the metal. Now you can see that I have added embellishments and added another color on top of the metal. It just needs the number sign and a picture. Can't wait to hang it in Drew's room, he loves it!

Hello Scrappers!

Yes, It's me....long lost Wendy! We have been to Disney and back and now its time for me to get busy in this scrappy world! I have a class coming up at TM next Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. We will be creating this very bright but fun layout! I do have a few spots open for the Saturday class if you are interested. Please call TM at 534-4433.Last night, my guys decided to go to the UL baseball game. I always have stuff to work on for others, but I took a break and created this quick little 2 page layout for Dax. At his school they choose a child that displays Christ-like behaviors as the "Crusader" of the month. Once they receive this award they take them over to our local ice-cream parlor for a sweet treat. I hope you enjoy this layout! It was nice to finally do something for myself!

3rd Set of Disney Series @ TM

Well, they say Disney is the happiest place on earth....and I believe this to be 100% true. I worked there one summer for my college internship and it was by far the best job I've ever had...well, I must add, I really didn't have too many bills to pay, so money wasn't an issue. Today, we have responsibilities so I think that makes are jobs a little tougher!

Anyways, our Kitz couldn't have come out at a better time. We are taking our family to Disney soon, so these layouts will be in my album for sure. Lemonade Anyone?

Does this make you ready for summertime? It sure does me! I use to love setting up shop in front of my house armed with pink lemonade and all my friends from the subdivision! Well, I was given the task as room mom to come up with a auction project.....and here it is........

Is this not the cutest and most fanciest lemonade stand you've ever seen? My crafty husband built it and Ms. Susan the art teacher (thank goodness her son is in Dax's class...so I didn't feel quite so bad asking a favor from her) painted the old fashion lemonade sign...it looks just like the vintage sign...isn't is cool! Well, I just have to throw together the basket full of lemonade sussies together and wa-laa it will be complete. I can't wait to see how much this goes for....I actually wish I had the money to bid on it myself.

Lemonade 4 Sale

I bet your wondering why I'm Selling Lemonade...well I'm not. But its auction time at SBS and I am the room-mom for Dax's class and so its part of my responsibility to get our project together. We are doing it a little different this year. We have themed items. So for our class we are going to make a Lemonade stand (of course my hubby is looking for a little help) and then we will be painting it and getting a basket of goodies that are themed to go along with it. So far I have come up with a few items such as: the book, Olivia Opens a Lemonade Stand, Lemonade mix, pitcher and glasses, wooden spoons. If anyone has any other thoughts or ideas for this cute little project....I would love to hear them! Leave me a comment!

Happy New Year's My Fellow Scrappers!

Sorry for such a yucky picture of my Calendar Class. I am just not good at taking these pictures...but I promise in person it is beautiful! It is chocked full of techniques...and yes we are making our very own champagne bottle and flute with acrylic! A Family Affair

I have been knowing Angela for about 3 years now, ever since I began teaching at TM. She has taken many of my classes, I have personally scrapbooked for her and made many shadowboxes and other gift items for her. Pretty much every year we have a private "Family & Friends" class for her and her favorite girls. Today we had her daughter Allison, her niece, her son's girlfriend and a few special friends that came to join in on the fun. I feel so privalidged to know this family and get the opportunity to hold special classes for them. These girls are so much fun and so willing to try anything...they had lots of fun today learning how to make the paper spiral roses, or peonies as they called them!Angela and her girls showing off their plates!

Angela's niece, her plate was so precious with the snowman theme! When they realized we would be having more classes using these plates they were so excited. Christmas 2010

MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you all had a marvelous Christmas, as I did. I have to say I really racked up this year...it actually was in stages. My parents decided to come for the holidays (they had thought they might stay home) so my mom had already taken me Christmas shopping during Thanksgiving. I got my apron, a fantastic pair of cowboy boots that I had been wanting for so long, and a bling bling jacket. So anyways when they decided they were coming she felt she needed something for me to open, she got perfumes, body lotions and money (always can use the green stuff)! My hubby I guess felt really bad for me because it seems as though everyone but myself has the Cricut Expression. So he went all out and got me the yellow one...he knows me so well! I would have either chosen the yellow or red. I can't wait to start playing with it...though I use the one at TM all the time, now I can make big circles and of course big stars for all my boy layouts! Guess what else he gave me...a gift card to Chris's Poboy...boy does he know me or what!?! My boys had a great time opening presents and my hubby enjoyed the bike, shirt and cologne that I got him. Overall it was a great time, too much food though...bursting at the seams! I hope you all had a joyous season. I have a few special prayers out there for friends that have lost family members and a special neighbor's husband who is in the hospital right now. Though we have great times, we must remember all of the people out their struggling for whatever reason and pray for them.

Last Minute Christmas Class @ TM today!

Well, I actually made this charger last year. I had seen the idea or something like it last year and just thought that's really cool. I could just add my new Christmas picture each year. So I made it and didn't show anyone. This year I added the paper roses and brought it to TM and low and behold I had a class filled with about 13 people. I have to say I teach some of the sweetest ladies that love to take classes and I am so honored that they take my classes each month. THANK YOU LADIES...too many to list all their names, but they know who they are! You all are the best! Many Christmas wishes to all and Happy New Year!

Photo Shoot: Take 20!

Every year I send Christmas cards to my family members and every year it is such an ordeal to take the pictures. How hard could it be to take 2 little boys pictures? Let me answer this for you....VERY HARD!!! I can never get them to cooperate at the same time, smile at the same time, sit still...not climb on each other and it really gets me every year! These are the only 2 I could capture that were okay. Hope my family just understands that boys will be boys and I go through so much just to get these cards out every year.

Onto my next bit of gibber gabber. I want to know from you my blog readers what kind of camera do you use. I am in very bad need of a new camera. I broke (or think I broke) my Nikon D80 and I have a point and shoot Lumix that I just hate, because it doesn't take good pictures of children that move alot. So when I save my money up I'd like to buy another good Nikon. I would love to know of any good deals and what you like about your camera. Hope to get a few responses!

1st Christmas Present

Okay, so I am already receiving Christmas presents from my mom. We won't be spending Christmas this year with them, so she took me on a wonderful Christmas shopping spree. I sure racked up. She told me to wrap everything up and put them under the tree...yeah right mom! The first thing that I picked out was this cute apron. I have seen so many cute aprons at the scrapping events that I have attended and I have needed or wanted one desperately for teaching classes at TM...so I just loved the colors of this one and the way it fit. So thank you mom for helping me stay clean while teaching classes!

Day of Crabbing

A few photos of the boys and I crabbing. This past summer I took my boys to Matagorda, TX...yes the end of the world to do a little crabbing. I grew up doing this on many of the weekends and I just had to bring them, so along with my brother we hopped in the car and off we went to catch some crabs. I used the product "Mud Puddles" to make the sand that you see in the layouts. I also use the cute little book marks that Janet is carrying at TM (she has so many of them, different animals etc.) I cut off the book mark part and wa-laa...cute little crab embellishments. The birds that you see are from last years Tattered Angels chips. Enjoy!

I want to wish my blog readers a Happy Thanksgiving! Okay, so I am a little late. I was away visiting my family for the holidays, but I am back! As I reflect on what I am thankful for...I don't have to dig too deep into my memory...I am thankful for a wonderful husband and children and my very supportive mother and father. As many of you know I have not been feeling good this past year or two, and I am NOT too thankful for that...but in order to get through these moments I am VERY grateful for who all has been there for me. I have been at the very bottom, feeling pretty awful at times and I have had some great friends to step in and help me out of the feelings and pain that I have felt, and I appreciate you...you know who you are! THANK YOU!

Now onto my next thought. I was at my parents and all my boys were at the deer lease hunting their little hearts out...so guess what i did....Yep! You guessed it! I scrapped....I scrapped alot! So much so I thought my mom was going to have a heart attack (did I tell you she's not into my hobby at all!) But I got so much accomplished for myself. They were not my typical work, and yes very simple....but I love simple. I will post them in a few days.

TM Knows How to Put on a Show!

Lets just say "TM Rocks!" We have always said that, but this weekend proved it! First we started off with a wonderful make-n-take. The ladies were so excited by the beauty of the layout and the techniques taught! There were actually 3 different flower techniques taught in this one layout!

Then I finally got to meet one of the wonderful ladies that I met on the Inspire website so many months ago. We are both from Texas so I guess we had some things in common. We found each other on facebook and we met for the first time this weekend. She came all the way from Texas to be a part of our grand opening and of course to take Donna's classes! Meet Martha!Now for the pictures of the Donna Downey classes that I took. I had all intentions of only taking the layout class that day, but I had so much fun creating and painting and just doing things that I don't normally do in scrapbooking that I just had to stay for the next class. Let's just say, I had a BLAST!

Donna is a wonderful teacher! I wish I had her sense of humor...she is so funny and so photogenic! Every picture I saw of her was just fabulous. She knows how to put on a class and I think she's one of the best! We at TM are so fortunate to be able to get such wonderful teachers to come to our store! I am so proud to call TM my "creative home" away from home...because believe me I'm there alot! Enjoy and be crafty!

I want to take this time to shout out to the blog world...that I now have an 11 year old child!!!! He is celebrating his golden birthday today. I cannot believe where 11 years have gone by. He has been such a blessing to my life and I am so happy to call him my son! I wish I had a few baby pictures on my computer to share with you all, he was such a beautiful baby...but those were the days before digital photography and I'm way to lazy to go scan them. Today was a wonderful day! Not only am I finally feeling good, we got to go around town trick or treating with the Pre-K class today. The weather was gorgeous and the kids were adorable! After all the excitement was finished and the kids had their Halloween party, Lynette and I went to pick up lunch for the teachers and wow can I say, "Angelle's makes a wonderful crab burger!" I hope that I have many more happy days like today.

I had to sneak a picture today with my little man before the day got busy and he wouldn't let me. He's not big into taking pictures with me as you can see!Look at these cuties! Dax, Alexander and Ana. I just love these pictures. I have group pictures of Drew at this age...awe they grow so fast! This is Ms. Simone's sister, Dax's teacher, dressed as a scary ole' lady. Dax didn't know what to make of her. He does not like scary things. I have to say she was very cool! Let's just say I can't wait to scrapbook these pictures! Happy Haunting!

Instructions for Frankenstein

Okay, way down below in an older post I showed this picture of my Frankenstein goody boxes. They are not yet complete, I still have to add gold colored Rolo candies to each side of the box, too look like those things that go on the side of Frankenstein's neck. I will then fill cellophane bags with candy, pencils and erasers and tie them up with some cute ribbons. But if you would like to know how to create this box...it is so easy! You take a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock. You will score lines that will make a tic tac toe grid. Measure 4" and score, measure 4" again and score, turn the paper and do the same exact thing. (Remember it will look like a tic tac toe grid) Then you will cut two of the lines on one side up to the middle square grid, do the same exact thing across from these cuts. Then all you do is fold up the sides and it makes a cute little box, glue with scrappy glue and decorate however you like. You could make pumpkins, bats or any occasion boxes! Enjoy!

School, School and More School

Let me start out my saying, "Sorry about the photo quality." But with my Iphone (which is not the new, but new for me!) doesn't have the high quality picture ability, but it is so much easier to take a picture and email it than having to hook my camera up to the computer! Last night we had a crop at TM, the first one in the new location. I was asked to work, and it was a nice time with a bunch regulars and a group of newbies! We had a great time. I helped them make decisions on projects and layouts, and threw together a of my own...not much thought put into them, but I like them nice and plain! Hope you enjoy!

Real quick...I said I wouldn't be back until after Halloween, well...just had to post these cute little bags that I whipped up last night for my 4yr old's trick or treating. I did the same exact thing for my older son when he was in Pre-K. It is so much fun, we take the kids down town to trick or treat at the local merchants...they have so much fun. Well, being the crafty mom that I am I just couldn't let these kids walk around with grocery bags...so I dug out my old scrapbook to look and see how I had made them. I didn't take a close up picture so it was quite hard to tell, but I think I did a pretty okay job. I have to remember...they'll just be thrown away! Enjoy!

Fun Little Boxes

Last month when we got together for Paula's crop, Ms. Phyllis and I decided we wanted to make these cute little Frankenstein boxes to give out for our kids/grandkids Halloween parties. So we gathered all the papers, buttons, punches and got busy. They are so easy! I only have to glue the rolo's on the sides.

Then I was asked by Dax's teacher what we could do for the cafeteria workers because it was "Cafeteria Worker's Week" so I suggested making these little boxes below and filling them with either cookies or candy. Hope you like!

Sorry I haven't posted lately...been a little crazy and still under the weather! I have some classes coming up soon at TM, fingers crossed we can get the papers, of course the ones I choose they are out of! Ugh! Why does this always happen, guess cause I use the hot new items! Wish me luck, may not post again until after October is over!

Just Waiting for a Photo

I just love the first page of my boy's school albums. I don't often make 1 page layouts, but this is the perfect opportunity to get to do that. This layout was a quickie...I think it took me all of about 20 minutes to throw it together. I always make Drew write his name, teacher's name and the year, so he can see how his penmanship has changed over the years. I asked him to write in cursive, but he declined, telling me he wasn't good at writing his "D's"...maybe next year. I even had a little voice recorder for his Pre-K year...it was too cute! Wow, time has gone by so quickly for my little guy, it saddens me to think about how much he has grown. Next, is my other little mans turn at Pre-K. I think his first layout will be very similar to Drew's, but I will incorporate things such as apples and the a,b,c's. I'll post it when I'm finished. Few New Layouts to Share

This weekend was the "No Frills Just Fun Crop" at the Ladybug Lodge. Well, I took advantage of many hours of cropping even though I have not felt very good...I just could not give up a few hours to get some much needed personal cropping done. I will be having a few tests run this month and next and hopefully they can figure something out. Please say a few prayers that it is nothing serious, many of you know how nervous I can be, so right now I am alot nervous!This layout is long over due! I am almost finished with out ski trip. It's nice to have an album almost complete! Good feeling! But very hard to finish these layouts with no new snow embellishments!
This picture does this layout no justice! The colors are so vibrant! Thanks Paula for helping me decide what papers to go with! I even silohetted (sp?) some balloon pictures and made them part of my clusters of embellishment...and yes silohetting is so against all my scrapbooking beliefs (LOL)!
This layout was full of techniques. Masking with inkpots, stamping, IRocking, and rub-ons. It inspired a few others, and I actually saw a few completed layouts with different papers being used.
This is just a peek of one of my ski layouts. I actually got the chipboard in Janet's garage sale for hardly anything and then I covered it with the new Tim Holtz tape and crackle paint...gorgeous!
This is a "Connie Layout," she even gave me some beautiful feathers to add to it and to give it her signature touch!
I hope you enjoyed all of my creations. I still have so much to catch up on, so much to do for others and Scrapfest and the TM store opening is coming up soon...oh and did I mention I start back at my "real" job this week. Did I also mention I don't have time to feel rotten? Well, I don't...so please send me some feel good vibes to a sick feeling young chick! Oh, well not so young- will be turning 38 this month! Cute as a Bug

Okay, so I don't know why I have such a thing about bugs right now. A few weeks back we came out with the cutest kitz that were all about bugs...they make great layouts for the Insect museum in New Orleans, It's a Bugs Life, and even for pictures of your kids sleeping...speaking of bed bugs...can you believe all those nasty reports about bed bugs! YUCK!!! Anyways, we have now come out with a kit for those "Baby Bugs!" We even got cleaver and took Janet's idea of trinket pins to the next level! Some Time @ Home

I have had some mixed emotions about TM being closed temporarily. Sad, because I enjoy meeting each month with all my friends and teaching them new ideas and techniques. Happy, because I got to spend a rather important time with Dax as he prepared for his new journey into "Big School." I have taken this time to get him into a routine and I accepted the position of "room-mom" for his class, which I am so excited about. I have even had time to go and join him for lunch at his school. I would have even stayed to eat with Drew, but as he says, "Mom that's not cool!" I decided I wouldn't embarrass him. So with all this time I have actually time to work on all kinds of things. I have been getting my house cleaned each morning by 9am (which is to me, so exciting within itself!) and by the way it is destroyed each day by 5:30! Janet and I have been working on all kinds of kits to have prepared for Paula's crop and Scrapfest, and I have been scrapbooking for a few of my clients. Above you will find some of the layouts or portions of them to get an idea of what I have been up to. I hope everyone stocked up on supplies and have been working on some wonderful creations! Back 2 School

Another school year has approached us! But this year is a little different...we have a new Crusader among us. Dax is starting school this year and we all are so excited for him. Dax is alot shy and has an interesting personality, but we know he is going to do great in school. Drew is now going into the 5th grade. Man has time gone by fast. I can remember like it was yesterday when hewas going into Pre-K. He was very opposite of Dax and was so thrilled about going to school and meeting new children. Both of my boys have gotten excellent teachers for the year, so we look forward to a fun-filled and educational year! I hope if you have children that your first few days go as well as ours did.

Worldwind of a Week

Just checking in with all my fellow scrapping bloggers! I have to say I am ready for school start...I unfortunately can not say that I have had the best summer this year. From the beginning I haven't felt very good...well for the last two years since my eyes started giving me problems I just have not been the same. I am trying really hard to just overlook my eye issues and try not to dwell to much upon it, I always think "it could be so much worse and I have to be thankful for what I have." Maybe its just all this heat that's getting to me.

Well, some of you have heard TM is moving!!! I am so excited along with the rest of the TM staff!!! We will be moving to Westmark Blvd. in October and it is a brand new building, we are thrilled with excitement...but to move all of the stuff out is a bit overwhelming and Janet, Mark, and Emily have worked so hard getting things organized and packed for the big move. Yes, unfortunately we have to be out of the current location at the end of the month so we will miss all of our wonderful customers but know they will be so happy when they walk through the door on opening day! I will miss all of my dedicated class takers! But don't worry we will be working on class kits and more Kitz Girlz kitz...so keep your eye out at www.trmemories.com.

Wow, time has gone by fast...or atleast the last 4 years. It is funny that when you are going through the stages of a child, you feel like it is eternity that they are crawling, or digging into cabinets and crying all night and then BAM they are 4, well that is how I am feeling today. Dax will be starting school this fall and I am so shocked and excited about this new transition. We went to pick out his uniforms for school and of course he is stating that he refuses to wear the clothes, so it should be an interesting year ahead! LOL Anyways, this is a quick layout I created a few weeks back while at TM. Hope you enjoy!

Welcome to the Rayne Forest!!!

I will be very busy next week. TM is having there annual Mega Crop, and this year it will be in the town of Rayne. We are very excited to have 180 visitors from TX, MS and LA joining us for this event. I will be teaching the classes below. The Frogs Just Wanna Have Fun, is the official layout for our Mega Crop. We have 30 women taking the class and we will be selling 20 additional kits. If you are interested in one please let me know asap so that I can save you one or make a few additional kits.The shadowbox class has been so much fun to teach. I think this might be the last time that I teach it. I continue to have requests for it, so I love to make my peeps happy. I want to thank a few ladies (you know who you are!) that have taken the class 4 times now....I am honored!The last class that I will be teaching is to honor our Father's or our special men in our lives. A friend of mine took the class this past month at TM and she completed it with pictures of her father, and it was breathtaking!
Stay tuned I have my July classes coming up at the end of July, and I will have two kids camps (single days) on the schedule as well. Heads up, one is a mommy and me picture frame and the other is a day for older girls...ages 8 and up. We will be making a white 7 gypsies painters tray. Keep a watch out for pictures. I have people signing up already. I'll send out emails soon.

Geaux LA Dodgers!

This past weekend we were busy with the LA Dodgers. Well, I guess I should say we have been busy with this team since January when they began their practices. Drew has now played with this select team for about 2 years and 1 year prior in all-stars. It is such a huge responsibility when playing on a team. They practice and practice and practice some more. Then almost every weekend is filled with tournaments. Poor little Dax has been such a trooper the last couple of years, tagging along to the game with his little backpack in tow.

This particular weekend the LA Dodgers won the whole tournament! Clean Sweep, all four games. Drew pitched the third game allowing only one walk and hit. Not bad for a 10 year old. The team as a whole have learned to work together and all of the players are such great little atheletes...such a joy to watch! Hope you enjoy the pictures, I'm sure I'll be working on some layouts soon!

Just Taking Orders

I was asked to create a shadowbox for a client of mine for Father's Day. She has been gathering the memorabilia for several months. Including an old belt buckle, and old calendar journal book, metals, a book cover from a book that her father-in-law had written from the Edwin Edwards days. I bet that was an interesting book! This gift will be for her husbands law office, which I think will make a nice addition! The pictures of the 3 generations were just terrific! Can't wait for her to see it!

Monkey See Monkey Do

Well many of you know how much I love frogs...well I love monkeys too, not just any monkeys though....it has to be sock monkeys. I have a feeling that sock monkey products will be a thing of the past pretty soon, so I am glad I got to make a few layouts using the products. Plus I am glad my boys are young enough that I could use the monkey papers. I didn't have much to do last night so I pulled out some really old products and went to work creating a layout for Drew's album. Typically for holidays I try to make a layout for each boys album plus one for my family album. Hope you enjoy and take a look no stars! I'm on a roll with my boy layouts right now!

Caught Some Crabs!

While visiting my parents this past week, we spent most of the time swimming and hanging out at the pool...but on this particular day we decided to go crabbing. My brother drove down to the beach with Drew and I brought Dax in my car...wasn't sure if Dax would enjoy this adventure so I thought it was a good idea to take a second car for a quick escape. To my surprise he loved it. He got a little bored in between pulling up crabs but we kept him busy by throwing rocks and eating. I can't wait to scrap these pictures. I've never created a crabbing layout. This is a past-time that my family loved doing when we were young. Growing up on the coast of Texas allowed us to fish and crab and go to the beach on a weekly basis. It's a wonderful childhood memory that I am glad I can share with my boys. I wish we lived closer to be able to do this more often.

This picture was taken over a year ago at one of Drew's baseball tournaments. I have to say Dax is a trooper at these games....very clingy and doesn't run 1 inch away from us...which is a good thing. He actually sits and watches the games pretty intently. I can't wait to see him playing baseball one day. He is only 4 and can hit a ball without a tee. Next year he'll have to play t-ball, but I don't think he's going to like that. I laugh, when we drive by the little kids playing...he says, "I'm gonna smoke those kids!" I guess he gets those words from his older brother!

These were a few pictures I captured of the boys playing around on Easter Sunday. I just love to watch them together (of course when they are not fighting). Drew has really been a good big brother throughout the years. I really don't know what it's like to have a sibling that is younger than me, I was the baby of our family, and it just amazes me to see Drew watching over his younger brother. Very protective when he wants to be. I had no intentions of scrapping these pictures last night, but when I saw the paper...it was just so darn cute and guess what I love the fact that there is not 1 star or circle on this layout! It is getting harder and harder to come up with boy layouts.

Baseball 2010 & Valentine's 2010

Here are a few other layouts I finished on our beach trip. I completed a baseball tournament layout. The pictures were great, much better than I'd take, so I enjoyed making this layout, I even hand-stitched the baseball. The Valentine's layout is from this year as well. We woke up and I made my usual Valentine's breakfast...heart pancakes, pink grits, bacon, eggs and choclate covered strawberries. We've been doing this for about 4 yrs now and the boys just love it. I fix a meal and set the dining room table all fancy and they just love using our fine china and being all fancy...haha which if you know me....I go for paper plates most meals!

Ski Trip 2009

Yes, I have been working on this ski album for quite some time now. But I really think I'm getting closer to the end. I hope that we get to go skiing again soon, it was still a nice trip under some crazy circumstances...next ski trip I want no unexpected car accidents and no vision problems! As many of you can remember the day before we left for the trip my brother was in an aweful wreck, leading my parents to have to cancel their trip and I also was going through some crazy vision problems...but now I must say I can see far...so going down those slopes today would be a piece of cake and much more enjoyable! So I am seeing my family on the slopes in at least 2 yrs. Dax needs to be a little older I think.

As I had mentioned Dax wanted a robot party this year. I was not certain on what I'd do, but I did find some great ideas of using can and nuts and bolts to make robots, we had robot painting, a robot pinata and of course another wonderful cake designed by Henri. I hope you enjoy the layouts that I created. I'm even thinking of making a robot layout for a boy class at TM...they were so fun to create, there are tons of robot scrapbooking supplies out there!

Where Does Time Go?

I know, I know....I have failed miserably at blogging! The last time I blogged was in April and it's now almost June. This time of the year is so hectic with the closing of school, my computer classes coming to an end, and I snuck off with a few friends and headed to the beach for a few days. I did create several layouts for myself during our beach trip. I have lots to share with you, my scrapper friends. I finally had a birthday party for Dax, so I have pictures and layouts to show you as well as classes that will take place at "It's Cropping Time Somewhere". I have a busy summer ahead full of kids and creativity....it should be interesting!

First I will share a picture of our added addition to our little family...Millie! I agreed to let Drew try his hand at winning a bunny at our local festival...well, I have to admit I never thought he'd be able to get the little white ball into the floating little glass dish...boy was I wrong! He did and we left with a little red basket with a tiny little bunny. For a while he lived on our back porch until I came home from my trip to find that she had eaten all of my beautiful plants on my porch. Thank goodness Jonathan was building her a home because I just love my plants and I was not so happy about this. I will have to show you a picture of her home...it is almost like a Ritz Carleton for rabbits.

Next, I will share a few photo's from Dax's party. When I have some time I will post the layouts that I created from his party. He wanted a robot party...well that's not so easy...but I did it and am glad it's over. Parties are always fun to plan but stressful while having them.

The last few photos are from our beach trip to Gulf Shores. Well, Janet and I always seem to have several laughs on ourselves when together...and that's just what we did on the drive over. It's always fun to see where we'll end up and lets just say we took the scenic route and laughed the whole way! We shopped, scrapped, sunbathed, and went to a few scrapbook stores and went to the "Home of the Throwed Rolls"...I don't

know about you, but I just love the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and they featured this restaurant on one episode, so when I found out that we were right down the road, I had to check it out. And the really threw me a roll and the food was awesome!

Below are a few pictures from this past year of Dax. It is amazing to me how the years go by so quickly. Before you know it he'll be grown, he's already starting school next year!

First, I must start off by saying this song is for Dax! He just loves it, so I promised I'd add it to my blog for a few days just for him. He wants to teach his friends and teachers how to do this dance! So here you go Dax! Also, today is his birthday, so I want to wish him a wonderful day!

Pitter Patter Upon My Heart

Ms. Alivia is one of the most beautiful baby girls that I know. She has such porcelain skin, beautiful red hair (I've always been partial to red heads) and crystal blue eyes. I have been so blessed with by getting to know her grandmother, Ms. Angela. I have taught her scrapbook classes and have been lucky enough to scrapbook for her for over a year now. Scrapbooking for girls...yes is a little out of my box, but fun! It gives me the little pink that I need in my life!

In this layout, I have used the new Making Memories "Pitter Patter" line, the embellishments were too cute, I couldn't resist. I couldn't find anything with baby's first tooth...so I improvised with hand-cutting a tooth from a tooth fairy paper. I also used the new bloomers...which are so rich in color. I hope you enjoy this layout as much as I did creating it!

Scrapping Makes me So HAPPY

I don't have the time that I use to, to be able to scrapbook for myself. Last Friday, I spent the whole day scrapping...well, I did work on my class, went to the gym and and eat out with some friends...so I didn't get a whole lot done, but I did have a great day. I finished about 4 or 5 layouts. Here are the ones I got pictures of. The Fall layout, I used the SEI papers and for the Snow layout (which by the way, I know the title is lame...but it is the 1st page of my family book) I used several different papers such as the new beach line from Bo Bunny and the boy line from Little Yellow Bicycle. Hope you enjoy them. And if I get some pictures of the others I'll post them later.

Monthly Calendar Class

Classes are almost FULL. I have about 1-2 spots left in each class, which will be held April 17th at 10:30, April 18th at 12:30 and April 20th at 10:30. I love this layout it is so cheerful! I must say Easter is one of my favorite holidays...it always has been! The colors my me so HAPPY! I will be teaching a NEW class at TM in May. I had been dying to get my hands on one of the 7 Gypsies painters tray and once Janet asked me to teach the class I grabbed mine quickly. I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter. I hope that you all are having a joyous day so far. Did I tell you, Dax doesn't like the Easter Bunny...not even if he wants to bring him candy and goodies....so we had to leave the baskets outside the front door for him to make a quick delivery. This morning my boys were up early digging through their baskets. Dax didn't even like what the Easter bunny brought him. Drew has outgrown the bunny, but he goes along with it for Dax. He throughly enjoyed what he got...a slip-n-slide, Marley and Me movie and some candy. Dax didn't like his froggie rain boots or frisbee (mind you he loves playing frisbee...but he was mad because it was green) Overall they are enjoying their goodies. As I was getting ready I looked outside and saw that we had a few other friends stop by for a visit....This little armadillo wasn't even afraid of me. He was actually in my neighbors yard...tearing it up no less. Drew said, "at least he's not doing that to our yard!" I got really close and took pictures of him...I think he liked it! Now off to cook our Easter dinner. I hope everyone has a beautiful day with your loved ones!

I am....here is one more layout I did last night for Kynnedie. I used the new line "Lucy Bird" by Imaginesce. I also used Prima flowers, Liquid Pearls, rub-on stitches, Jenni Bowlin butterflies and white Thicker letters. These are also the papers I am using in my March class, which my pictures do not do it justice at all. Today, I tried taking the pictures outside in the morning sun. Think they are a little better.

I have about 6 on going projects right now and Miss Kynnedi is one of them. She is the cutest little thing...well actually she is a teen now, but the pictures I am scrapping are of her when she was a little girl. I love the Lucky Line by Little Yellow Bicycle so I just had to use it and the pictures went to well with the papers. I have to apologize for the photography...I stink at it! The LaHaye's

I have been working on Dr. Chip and Lacey LaHaye's family albums. The album that I have worked on for the past several months is the building of their home. It is breathtaking and very unbelievable. I have finished up another portion of the 2nd book. A friend of mine started the 1st book and I am sure by the time I am finished with this project there will be at least 4 books. It is so much fun seeing the progression of this home. They are building out in the country on several acres...I just love the layout that I worked on which shows the front of the home, I used the K&Co. magnolia stickers, Prima flowers and the new Webster Pages to create this lovely layout. I would like to "Thank" the LaHaye's for allowing me to work on this project for them...it has been so much fun!

Matagorda County Fair & Rodeo

Each year we go visit my parents and go to the small town rodeo. Last year was the first year that we weren't able to go due to Troy's accident. We were determined to make it this year. Here are a few shots that I got before we left the house. I have to say...we just love the wild bull riding contest (not quite sure that's what it's called) but what it is, is 3 amateur guys get out there...wrestle a HUGE bull, and get the ropes on it while one of the guys has to ride it down to the other end of the rodeo arena. I actually have a friend that use to participate in this, he got pretty banged up by the bull, and many of the guys do. There use to be a man that was in his 60's or 70's that would participate every year...thank god he finally saw the light and retired! This year a young group of boys set the record for this competition...and it was rather exciting. I know most of my Louisiana friends don't see me as the type to love all of this...but I REALLY DO!

Sad Day in Football!

Today, as I was logging onto yahoo...of course the heading read "Jake Unemployeed" This broke my heart. I can remember him saying, "I will always make time for autographs because one day I will be a nobody." And this might not have been exactly what he said, but it was close. Just because he's had a bad season they got rid of him to make room for some newby named Matt Moore. As many of you know, I am not a HUGE football fan. But I am a HUGE Jake fan. I have watched him through the years and he has done so much for our community. He is such a respectable guy and family man...and I understand Pro football is all about making money (which is one reason I don't like it) and I guess they feel they have done the right thing. But I hope he shows this team that he is not finished and I hope he kicks some ass somewhere else! Go Jake!!!

March Winds

I can not believe how fast the month of February went by. I have to say I am so ready for some warm weather. February Is A Busy Month

Superbowl...Valentine's Day...President's Day...Mardi Gras...Lent...and now that the Lenton Season is upon us I have reflected on the past several months and it didn't take me long to decide what I would be giving up for Lent. Drew and I were having lunch the other day at one of my favorite local restaurants, Chris's Poboys, and he asked me what I was giving up for Lent. I told him, that I have realized that for the last year I have been so wrapped up with life and work that I feel as though I have put my family on the back burner and it's time to get back on track and realize that my family is the most important thing in my life. So I've decided to give up anything related to work, which includes the many hours spent on the computer and phone calls. When they get home from school it will be ALL family time until they go to sleep. That means I will be busy preparing dinners, doing homework, bath time, playtime and so much more. And it's not that I wasn't doing all of that before, but my heart was not in it because I was so wrapped up in what I needed to do. I will say... giving up the computer is a hard thing to swallow, but in the long run when I see happy boys running around my house....it will be so worth it!

Speaking of happy boys, here are a few pictures I captured on Valentine's Day morning. I have for the last several years had a Valentine's Dinner, and being that it fell on a Sunday this year, I decided to have breakfast...which included heart shaped pancakes, heart shaped butter, white chocolate covered strawberries, pink grits, eggs, bacon and of course pink milk. And believe it or not the boys LOVED the pink grits! But unfortunately after breakfast I was off to the walk in clinic, because I just have not been feeling well. All in All it was a great day spent with my loved ones!

Whether you are Catholic or not, please take the time if you are a scrapbooker or not a scrapbooker....to think about the time you spend with your family. Is it true quality time? If not jump right in and do what I'm doing...I challenge you to grab your family back and have some fun! Summertime is right around the corner (I can't wait) and it will be time to start playing outside with the kids. Run and be silly, have fun with your children, grandchildren or nieces and nephews because they grow up to fast. And before too long my little boys will be teenagers and then young adults. I want to see every moment with my eyes WIDE OPEN.

3 Posts in One Weekend!

I have been whipping them out this weekend. I completed several for my clients and 1 for myself! It's not embellished too much, but when you just need to get caught up...then to heck with all the extras!

Which brings me too this subject...where is scrapbooking going? I almost miss the old days of flatness! This might just be my thoughts for the month, but I do love that anything goes in scrapbooking, but I think many times I feel like I need to add so much "stuff" to my layouts, because that is what is expected of me. I've come to the conclusion I am a simple scrapper...it takes me about 1 hr or so to crank out a layout , I just don't have the patience to work on a layout for anything longer than a couple of hours. I do find myself adding things now and again but for the most part...I just want to get it done and make it nice at the same time!

I must thank Aphra for inspiring me. I just love her style and I must say I just love looking at her layouts...they rock! Thanks Aphra!

P.S. And one other reason that there are not many embellishments....I've looking through every bin that I own for my "snow stuff" and couldn't find them anywhere! I just hate when that happens.

Sneaux & Shopping

I could not believe my eyes yesterday morning. I don't think we were suppose to get snow. And, we didn't get as much as my friends in Texas got or even my friends in Alexandria and Shreveport, but we did get some HUGE snowflakes. The day before I was working with a lady in OHIO on an order of chipboard for my upcoming class and she told me there was so much snow she had to go shovel it up to get to the mailbox to mail my package. Okay that comment was hard for me to grasp...because I have never had to shovel snow. I can't imagine how that must be, but I would love to have that much just once to see what it's like.
As you can see my picture came out aweful. I couldn't get my camera to work outside. So I was a bit frustrated that I couldn't get any good pictures of my boys enjoying the snow, so I was off to bring the camera to the shop. They gave me the bad news that the auto focus is not working....so guess what I need a new lens but don't have the money to fork out to get a good one. They did tell me they will be getting a Sigma that is 15-200. Does anyone know about this lens...will it produce cruddy pictures? It's only $200, but I know you get what you pay for. Any suggestions on this is much appreciated! Oh and my watch broke too! What else???

Well, I'll tell you what else...I got to my hair appt. and my hairdresser was running late...an HOUR late! So the quant little town that I live in has antique shops all around. I never have time to go look in them because I'm always busy with the kids. Well, it did give me time to go look around and here is what I found.
I can see the little seed packets on a gardening layout and the milk caps, well in the center of flowers or just clustered on a boy layout. Oh and then when I got to my doctors appt...they ran an 1 1/2 late! WHAT A DAY!!!

How About Them Saints!

It has been a whirlwind around this place with the Saint's going to the superbowl. I was even excited and I don't watch a whole lot of football. I did get into the spirit of it all for my boys. I'm outnumbered in my house, but I look at it as being the Queen of our castle. Usually when football games are on and they are all watching the games I'm in my office scrapbooking away or blog surfing for wonderful inspiration.

My boys were lucky enough to get Drew Brees' autograph...which is a very exciting and lucky event. My brother, the one that got in a wreck, is dating an old high school friend and her best friend is Drew's aunt (which was like his mother). By the way, many of you followed my story of Troy and his recovery...well, I will report he is really doing well, the brain trauma was very bad and has left a lasting effect on him, but overall he looks different but he is in good spirits and happy to be alive and he seems to be really happy dating and in love!

Okay enough of the writing....let's get to the photos.

I even got a fleur di lis cake pan for the game, which made a beautiful cake. I am actually very excited about the pan because I can use it for Mardi Gras and UL too! You can freeze punch in it and put it in a big punch bowl...endless possibilities!
This Saint's layout was part of the Kitz 2 Go. I created this Saint's inspired layout and Janet created the Mardi Gras layout. We did sell out of them, but we are making more to bring to Scrapfest. If you have any questions about the kitz please let me know.

We all go through periods of time that keep us from blogging. I have actually gotten emails wondering if I'm okay because I haven't posted in a long time. That makes me feel good to know that I have followers and that some of you really enjoy checking out my work. I have been really busy with life I guess. I am scrapbooking for about 6 people, making kitz for Kitz 2 Go and getting prepared for classes. This upcoming class I was a little nervous. I couldn't make the layout because we were waiting for the brand new Prima papers to make the layout. They were suppose to ship much earlier and guess what??? They didn't. I just got them and we have about 9 days until the first class, so I had to get busy busy busy! This is what I came up with. Unfortunately my Prima flowers that I was going to use didn't come in, so I had to make due. We will be learning to make the faux scalloped pleating that Aymee Gandy (guest designer for Kitz 2 Go) made in one of her layouts. We will also learn how to make roses, use the cuttle bug and many more techniqes. So if you have signed up for the class I will see you soon. So Nice

It feels so nice to scrapbook for myself...that is. I have been so busy preparing for classes and scrapbooking for about 6 different people that I haven't had a whole lot of time to scrapbook for myself. So today on a big Sunday I packed up my bags and met a few friends at the scrapbook store. Here were my creations. The tennis layout was a bit crazy with the colors, but I like it!

Drew's 10th birthday was celebrated at the local Japanese restaurant. We had a few of his buddies over and we had a Rock Band party. We took them to eat, had a rockin cake designed and made by Donna Lanclos, played Rock Band and listened to them all have a blast, which lasted way into the night!

This layout is using some very old paper (snowman paper) when I first started teaching at Treasured Memories I used this paper, I just love it. I used puffy paint, which you can't see to add the snow effect. We were all prepared for a wonderful night of Louisiana sneaux...and all we got were a few big fat snow flakes that didn't stick...we had fun anyways! Hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them!

I have a new BUG in my LIFE

A Cuttlebug that is. I know they have been around for a very long time, but I've always wanted one but never got the bug enough to get it. I got it as a Christmas gift and I just absolutely love it, can't wait to see what I can come up with.

I had a little drawing during the holidays. It was under my "Boo Hoo" post. Well the lucky winner was a nice lady by the name of Erin. Well, today I decided to stop by the local scrapbook store and see what was brand new out there in the scrapping world... and this is some of the things I got for her. The Christmas paper line by Fancy Pants (I just love Fancy Pants) and the K& Co embossed metal stickers. The other items aren't so new, but fun which is the Heidi Swapp snowflakes and the Making Memory chipboard candy cane. It's going in the mail tomorrow Erin, sorry it's not a surprise....I just hate surprises anyway, I have no patience. Maybe that will be something I work on for the New Year, along with not drinking Diet Coke!

Last but not least! Ms. Bea featured me as her guest scrapbooker on her blog. Go here to see her blog and work. Ms. Beatriz is one of the sweetest ladies I know. I have to say she came into my life when most needed. Last year my brother was in a horrible car accident in which he wasn't suppose to make it. My brother is alive and doing much better and I think it had to do with her prayers along with many others. She still to this day prays for Troy and my family appreciates her for that. Not only is she a wonderful person she is a wonderful scrapbooker. Thank You Ms. Bea! Love Ya!

Hey Twilight Fans

Here's something for you. I have read all but the last Twilight series books. I started the last one and then never finished it, I better get a jump on it before it comes out on the big screen. On this particular day Janet, Heather and Sherie met me at the movies for a little Twilight excitement. The line around the movie theatre was incredible. We were actually the first ones to get in, Heather pre-purchased our movie tickets, which was a smart idea! The funniest part about this movie, was the fact that Janet had just had dental work done, in which they gave her meds (you know what I mean) so she was a little loopy and ended up falling asleep. Though, she is not a big fan of Twilight so in her eyes, she didn't miss a thing! We had a great time and plan on attending all of them!

In the layout, I handmade the black roses with the cricut and spraymist. I did get the idea from Tim Holtz. The paper is by Creative Imaginations and the background paper is just a plain grey cardstock. I used Twilight memorabilia, chipboard, Tim Holtz key, and bling. Hope you enjoy and you always know I enjoy comments.

Pottery Barn had these really great looking wall cubbies, that I just fell in love with the minute I saw them. Of course they had two of them side by side, but just one cost plenty enough for me! I had been talking about them to my husband and guess what...he ordered one for me for Christmas. They look very antique, but they are not. They even have hand-painted numbers. I can't wait to fill them up with scrapbooking goodies. I love this purchase, but once again it is not the most functional scrapbooking piece that I get. I have a way with buying things that make my room look good, but they don't really have a huge organizational purpose. But darn it, I will have a good looking room! I'm looking forward to a much better year, 2009 was not so hot (an eye surgery that wasn't so great or successful, a near fatal car accident that changed our lives, the downturn of the economy and business loss), but I just know that 2010 will be much better! I have faith that things have happened for a reason but goodness I just want a year with not so much to face especially all at once! Good Luck & Happy New Year!

Well, I'm sending some Saints Love to you all! I feel as though I put a gri gri on the Saints the last couple of games. I have to admit I was rooting for the Cowboys, and before you know it my boys won! Then, just messing with everyone I was rooting for Tampa (as a complete joke around the house) and Tampa won. Crazy...so now I'm serious! Come on Saints! Heather as you say *clap clap*.

Well I must say Aymee has blown my mind! I just love all of her projects that she came up with using the materials in the Kitz 2 Go. She used one technique that I am in love with and I plan on using in an upcoming class so get ready to make some faux pleats! If you would like to check out her blog click here. I want to take this time to wish all of my ladies who come each month to take my classes at Treasured Memories and all of my fellow bloggers a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am so honored to teach so many wonderful ladies each month and not only do I teach them...they teach me, whether it's about life, scrapbooking or even stuff about my eyes or raising kids...you all have touched my life in such a profound way...and I thank you all! Of course I don't have everyone's addresses to mail out cards, so I am extending my Christmas wishes to you and your families this holiday season and please be safe and I will see you next year!

December Class at TM

My monthly layout class begins this Saturday at Treasured Memories. I've been a very busy bee this month. I just finished up 3 shadowbox classes and I still have one more at the end of the month. Kitz Girlz will be ready to ship or be picked up December 10th, and we have already pre-sold 31 kits, we only have 4 left! And now my December classes must get underway before the Christmas Holidays! The Tuesday and Sunday classes are full, but I could squeeze in a few in the Saturday class which starts at 10:30. Please email me or call the store if you are interested in taking the class.

Last Tuesday I taught a shadowbox class. Here are a few of the finished ones. There were so many awesome boxes and beautiful pictures I might add! I had so much fun helping everyone pick out papers and embellishments. I have 3 more of these classes this month, and I'm sure they will all be beautiful!

Frog Fetish

Titles can be challenging...especially when you've done as many frog layouts as I have. Someone gave me the title "Road Toad" which we did find him in the road, but he was surely not a toad...he was a huge Louisiana Bullfrog. I have to say, I have never been afraid of a frog, but I was of this one. He was MAD that we caught him. He was surely lost...we found him in front of our house late at night...we had fun with him and then let him loose down by the bayou the next morning. He was barking at us he was so mad...to say the least I didn't even hold this one! Products used: Prima stars and flowers. Printed postcard, prima studs, martha stewart punch and a few other items that I can't recall the names of. Hope you like!
